Thanks for posting. Hopefully today's class was helpful to you. You have a good start, I just want you to clarify and add a little more realism to your design. Like I said, I feel that both compositions have a similar underlying structure (the stream/trails mirror each other). I just want to see them pushed in different directions. Make the friendly one feel more friendly, through rhythms and appealing inviting shapes. Same applies to the hostile forest, make it feel scary, while maintaining the realism.
I think you could push the values of your comps more - they are a bit hard to read right now because they are made mostly of middle value. By adding more contrast you will be able to further distinguish the different ground planes and your focal point. Atmospheric perspective will also add to the illusion of depth to your forests.
